[The following is delivered in a controlled, restrained voice.]

I'm supposed to be a model citizen of Romdeau. I'm supposed to be completely loyal and hold utmost faith in the government. Without the government's regulations in place, chaos would overrun the city. Such chaos would lead to rising crime rates, political rioting, and general discontent amongst the people. The government is established to maintain order and peace and provide for the needs of the population. It's the cornerstone of the city's existence. Without a government, we are but a restless, vagabond people.

I'm supposed to be upholding that government with all that I am. However, [Her voice gradually comes undone from here on.] all the disasters transpiring over the past months and the few, if any, answers we've been given are a cause of concern. Why is this happening now? Why aren't the proper Bureaus trying to explain those disasters and ensure the public that everything will be all right? Of course, as model citizens we should believe that of our own accord, but regardless the Bureaus should make a public statement about the matters at hand. I want... I must believe that the Bureaus and the government by extension are still looking out for our best interest. Doubting them would be treasonous, especially in my line of work.

It's my raison d'etre to protect the law and citizens of Romdeau. Why does it feel that in time I'm going to be forced to side with one or the other?

[A short pause, followed by a scoff and a clipped disclaimer.] I'm sorry. It was out of line for me to speak so foolishly. [And the recording cuts off. Despite her apologies, this entry isn't deleted.]

[The sound of water pattering onto a window is recorded.]

Water?

[Footsteps, and the squeak of a door swinging open. It sounds like a shower, but over the entire area.]

It's falling from the top of the dome. How is this happening? Something must be wrong with the pipelines again. We don't need another water shortage like the one several months ago.

[Kira would never admit this to anyone, but to this day part of her was still wary of being in the Central Mall. No matter how many walls she steels her heart and mind with, this area of the city brings up memories of that day, when she lost everything that she loved. The Security Bureau couldn't close the case of her parents' deaths. The Intelligence Bureau failed to recover her missing brother. She didn't even remember any of their names anymore, but all her attempts to brainwash herself of these memories couldn't keep her from wondering why it all had to happen? Why her parents? And what kind of brother disappears and leaves his younger sister behind? A bad one, she thought bitterly, but she didn't honestly believe that.

However, in her inexplicably exhausted state Kira allowed herself to be drawn to this place. Were she feeling more herself, she wouldn't be strolling the walkways lining the front of the shops wantonly. She was searching for something. She wasn't sure what, but she needed to be here, regardless of her personal feelings. She hoped she could find it soon. Sleep was getting the best of her, and the person she was leaning on wasn't likely to appreciate it.]

My eyesight seems to have worsened for the first time in four years. The optometrist explained that at a certain point, your vision usually stops going bad on its own. You don't need a new prescription until you're significantly older or another medical condition such as glaucoma or diabetes affects it. I suppose my eyes haven't reached that point yet. I'll have to have them checked out soon.

However, it's strange how it happened. I could see perfectly through my glasses yesterday, but today I can't so much as read a file two feet from my face. My eyesight couldn't have gotten that severe over a night. It's illogical.

[General outdoor sounds can be heard, along with murmuring and shuffling from the queues of people waiting for their rations from the shopping mart Kira is currently stationed at. Fabric flips off, and a young man protests unintelligibly as she takes him out of the line.]

Don't try to fool me, boy! A simple disguise isn't going to trick me into giving you more rations. Leave, and don't try such a thing again.

[A few steps back to her place, then an irritated sigh.] When there's an entire city to feed, we can't allow anyone, with few exceptions for the sick and elderly, any more food than what emergency and food services have determined enough for each person per day. This isn't a difficult concept. You can't be selfish in a situation like--

[Someone shouts, "You cut in front of me!" Another person barks back, "I was here the whole time!" More accusations and insults, and some blows are recorded.

Some grunting as Kira tries separating the feuding pair.]
Both of you, stop this immediately! Everyone will get their share. There's no reason to--

[Commotion explodes. People in line can be heard trampling each other scrambling inside the mart. Kira takes off after them.]

Get back in line! We need everyone back in order, now!

((Any Security workers? Feel free to have your characters at the scene for crowd control, orz. Any other characters as well. Just keep in mind it's being audio recorded.))

Stocking up on water bottles beforehand turned out to be a wise decision. The water pressure in my shower and sinks are weakening. Apparently hoping the water problem that started in Sectors 5 to 6 was expecting too much. How severe is this problem elsewhere? At this point it's a bearable inconvenience on my end.

[This recording comes in and out every so often because of the power situation. Static occasionally sounds, but the recording is generally audible.]

Has anyone higher up figured out what's causing the power outage? It's difficult to work in these conditions under minimal lighting, not to mention I have to save my work every five minutes. The phones keep ringing with angry citizens asking what's going on and how much longer this is going to be. I don't like having to tell them over and over we're still working on it but we're trying our hardest to fix the problem. We need answers.

[I hope this works for the plot, yes?]

Driving on the interstate is so much easier for me than driving on local roads. I have the worst sense of direction as it is, and it's just an added hassle to have to look for the right street to turn on. Interstates are just, "Find exit, vroom."

Oh. You mean RP driving. Yes.

Tell me if something about my playing or characterization doesn't sit with you right. Or even icons because I had to make all these, and I am no graphic designer. KIBA's an old fandom of mine, but Kira's a new muse, so I'm breaking her in. Even if I'd been playing her forever though, there's always room for improvement.
